Ms. Andrea Scott-Revenue Program Manager
Andrea has been part of the East Lyme Public School District since 2015, bringing her passion for education, STEM, and youth development to our community. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island, which fueled her curiosity for science and exploration.
As the Revenue Programs Manager, she oversees before and aftercare programs, summer programs, the Pre-K Novas Super Novas program, and the Aquatics and Fitness Center. She loves creating engaging learning experiences that inspire young minds to explore, discover, and grow.
Beyond her work, she is a proud parent to a 14-year-old son and an outdoor enthusiast. Whether hiking in the mountains or relaxing at the beach, she embraces every adventure that comes her way!
Ms. Brittany Nahman-Revenue Programs Assistant Manager
Brittany grew up in East Lyme and earned her bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. She continued her education at Pepperdine, earning her Juris Doctor and becoming a member of the California Bar.
Since joining the district in 2024, she has had the privilege of serving as the Revenue Programs Assistant Manager, where she helps oversee three before and aftercare programs, the Novas Supernovas preschool, summer camps, and the Aquatics and Fitness Center. As a proud mom of two children who attend Lillie B. Haynes, she feels deeply connected to this community and passionate about creating a positive impact.
Brittany is committed to ensuring that every child feels valued, included, and supported. She believes in fostering meaningful connections with kids and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their growth and well-being.
Ms. Melissa Scanlon-Head Teacher
Ms. Ashley Ross-Shelley-Head Teacher
Ashley is a full-time college student majoring in elementary education and special education. Ashley was introduced to the district as a camp counselor and assistant manager of Summer Fun Club.
Ashley has always known she has wanted to work with children and make an impact. During her teenage years, Ashley was a babysitter and an ice skating coach to many. She continued to find her passion for working in a school district while working as a paraprofessional at Lyme-Old Lyme Schools, while participating heavily in the district. Ashley is committed to making everyone feel valued and providing the highest quality of education to all students.
Outside of her professional career, Ashley enjoys educating herself, spending time her with her dog, Cleo, and experimenting with coffee.
Mrs. Lyn Rouzzo-Classroom Aide
Lyn and her husband Michael moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Connecticut in 2020 after raising their three sons. Lyn worked as a medical assistant in pediatrics for 20 years and then nannied for a set of twins for three years, showcasing her dedication to nurturing young minds. Her passion for caring for and helping young people led her to the East Lyme School District.
Before joining the preschool program as a classroom aide in 2022, you may have seen Lyn working in the before and after care programs at one of the three East Lyme elementary schools. Lyn finds joy and excitement every day in teaching new skills and watching the kids grow. Her strong commitment to children continues to make a positive impact on the lives of the students she works with.
Outside of her professional life, Lyn enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Maisy and Fozzie Bear, crafting, decorating, and discovering New England.
Mrs. Emilie Blindeman-Classroom Aide
Emilie Blinderman brings more than 15 years of coaching, teaching, and child development experience to the Novas program. Before joining Novas, Emilie spent 15 years as the Assistant Sailing Coach at Connecticut College, where she guided and mentored student-athletes.
Most recently, Emilie worked at the Connecticut College Child Development Lab School, contributing her expertise in both the toddler and preschool classrooms. Her dual background in athletics and early childhood education reflects her dedication to helping young people grow with confidence, curiosity, and resilience.
Emilie is a graduate of Eckerd College, where she earned her degree in Business Management and competed on the Varsity Sailing Team.
She lives in Waterford with her husband, their two children—Finn (7) and Ella (4)—their corgi, Archie, and two cats. Outside of work, Emilie enjoys time with her family and being on the water.
